7 people displaced after house fire in Suffolk

An investigation revealed the cause was from discarded smoking material.

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Emergency crews responded to a home fire in the 100 block of Tee Box Lane Saturday night.

Units arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home’s garage. Suffolk Fire & Rescue crews were on the scene at 6:06 p.m. and the fire was extinguished by 6:49 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

The residence of the home, two adults and five children, have been displaced as result of the damage.

An investigation revealed the cause was from discarded smoking material.
