NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Airport officials have announced the Norfolk International Airport and Uber have reached an agreement.
Norfolk Airport tweeted it is now welcoming Uber as an authorized transportation provider.
The ride sharing company and airport have been at odds for months over a contracting dispute. For a while drivers couldn’t give people rides to or from the airport.
Uber released the following message regarding the agreement:
While we believe the pickup and drop off fees are still too high, the compromise with the Airport Authority will enable our partners to resume providing safe, reliable rides to residents and visitors of the Norfolk area. — Annaliese Rosenthal, General Manager, Uber Virginia
