Two-vehicle crash in Hampton leaves one in critical condition

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A two-vehicle accident was reported on the 2100 block of Fox Hill Road, Saturday evening.

Hampton Police Communications received a call for a car crash at 9:42 p.m.

SPO Ashley Jenrette said the investigation revealed that a Mazda sedan was speeding eastbound on East Mercury Boulevard, ran through a red light and crashed into a Chrysler SUV turning left onto Cherry Acres Drive from the westbound side of East Mercury Boulevard.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered one of the drivers suffering from life threatening injuries. This individual, an adult male was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Two additional people, a 22-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, were also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident caused eastbound traffic to close temporarily on Fox Hill Road near East Mercury Boulevard.

Members of the Hampton Police Division’s Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
