Chesapeake appoints new deputy city manager

United States Navy Captain Robert Geis appointed Chesapeake's new Deputy City Manager.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — United States Navy Captain Robert Geis has been appointed Chesapeake’s new Deputy City Manager.

Geis replaces Amar Dwarkanath who retired in 2015

Geis is currently serving as Chief of Staff to Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, supporting 14 naval installations from Maine to North Carolina. He will retire from active duty with 29 total years of service to become Deputy Manager.

His first day as Deputy City Manager will be July 1.
