Norfolk Police arrest suspect wanted in New Year’s Day shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Norfolk have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting that happened New Year’s Day in the 1000 block of Hugo Street.

Ceason D. Moore Jr., 24, was arrested around 4:40 p.m. Thursday on Atlanis Street.

Moore was wanted for a shooting that sent a 36-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries. A neighbor told 10 On Your Side that she heard an argument escalating minutes before the gunfire.

Moore faces charges of malicious wounding, attempted robbery, use of firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
