Chesapeake Police chase ends when car crashes into Norfolk townhouse

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A police chase that started in Chesapeake, ended when the car officers were chasing crashed into a townhouse in Norfolk.

The driver of the car is still on the loose.

Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake Police says around 2:35 a.m., an officer attempted to pull over a black 2002 Infinity for an equipment violation, at the intersection of Berkley Avenue and Crystal Avenue.

The driver didn’t stop and led police on a chase onto Interstate 264 and into Norfolk.

The suspect got off the interstate and crashed their car into a townhouse at the intersection of Stoney Point North and John Hancock Lane. The driver then ran from the scene.

Chesapeake and Norfolk Police officers are searching the area for the suspect.

No one was reported injured during the pursuit, and the townhouse was not damaged.
