Police arrest man for two robberies at Circle D Food Mart

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C (WAVY) – Police have arrested 59-year-old Carlton Bridges for two armed robberies at a Circle D Food Mart in Elizabeth City.

The arrest came after the Elizabeth City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division concluded an investigation from different robberies at the same location on December 8 and January 17. Bridges was charged with two counts of armed robbery and kidnapping, felony breaking and entering and injury to real property.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for Bridges and were able to locate him at his residence in the 500 block of East Broad Street Thursday and he was then taken into custody and to the Elizabeth City Police Department for processing.

Bridges was processed and charged and given a $80,000 secured bond. He was later transported to the Albermarle District Jail where he is still being held. His court day in Pasquotank County is scheduled for January 25.
