Hampton bank robbery reported during winter storm

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police were called to the Old Point National Bank on West Mellen Street Friday afternoon.

According to Hampton Police, the bank was robbed around 2 p.m.  Investigators determined the suspect entered the bank, displayed a gun and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene with the stolen cash.

No one was injured.

Police released a surveillance image of the suspect. He is approximately 6 feet tall and 240 pounds and was wearing a Nike hoodie and a black and white cloth covering his face below his eyes. He was carrying a briefcase.
