JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Occupants of a two-story timeshare complex made it out safely after a fire sparked in the attic, Thursday afternoon.
James City County Fire units were dispatched to the 200 block of Leafwood Lane in the Historic Powhatan Plantation subdivision at 1:23 p.m.
Firefighters say the flames were contained to the interior attic space of one residential unit and the exterior roof in the area of the chimney. The first and second story living spaces of the structure were not impacted by smoke or fire.
Only the first floor unit was occupied at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
