NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk Police Department says it will honor its fallen K-9 on Tuesday.

There will be a private memorial service for the law enforcement community at the Norfolk Police K-9 Range followed by a burial with full honors at the Garden of the Pines Pet Cemetery in Virginia Beach.

The public is welcome to pay tributes along the funeral procession route.

Police say Keith Richardson shot and killed Krijger. It happened during a standoff on Land Street that started Sunday night and went into the morning. Police then shot Richardson. He died Tuesday.
