Norfolk family displaced in overnight house fire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A family of three adults and two dogs was displaced after their house on St. Louis Avenue caught fire Wednesday.

When crews first arrived on scene shortly after 10:30 p.m., they reported seeing a two-story house that was showing smoke.

Firefighters say the damage from the fire was extensive, and that it had spread into the walls and attic.

WAVY Viewer Katarina Gray sent a video of the fire to 10 On Your Side, which shows part of the second floor on fire.

No injuries were reported in the fire. The family is currently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
