VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center received its second cold-stunned turtle of the season on Wednesday.
The juvenile green turtle has been named Rainier, and reportedly arrived at the aquarium with a body temperature of 48.9 degrees. Rainier was sent to the aquarium from Kiptopeke State Park.
The aquarium posted about the turtle on Facebook Thursday, a little less than a week after receiving its first turtle, which was named Petrified Forest.
Petrified Forest is in recovery, according to the aquarium.
