NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) — Investigators are looking into a wildfire that crews fought south of Whalebone Junction on Cape Hatteras National Seashore Wednesday morning.
Firefighters with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Nags Head Fire Department, and North Carolina Forest Service were called out to the fire, which covered a little less than an acre.
Firefighters say the fire was brought under control Wednesday morning, but it is suspected to have been a human-caused fire. No injuries or damages were reported in the fire.
The incident is currently under investigation.
