NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A New York man who used a stash house in Norfolk will spend to 8 years in prison on cocaine and heroin charges, the U.S. Department of Justice Eastern District of Virginia announced Wednesday.

Officials charged Luis Perdomo, 27, with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more cocaine and 1 kilogram or more of heroin.

Perdomo pleaded guilty to the charges in September.

According to court documents, Perdomo and others transported the drugs to the stash house in Norfolk prior to its distribution. Money from the distribution was then taken back to New York in various vehicles.

A traffic stop in Maryland on March 31, 2015, resulted in a search of Perdomo’s car and the discovery of $280,000 cash in three secret compartments inside the car.

Officials say surveillance footage showed Perdomo visited the Norfolk stash house in April and May of last year.
