City gives M Star Hotel deadline for demolition plan

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — 10 On Your Side has learned the city of Norfolk has told the owner of Ocean View’s M Star Hotel to tear down the building.

The owner and the city met on Jan. 5 to discuss the next move for the hotel. If the owner does not have a demolition plan by Jan. 20, the city will do it.

The owners have already missed the first deadline to submit a plan.

The hotel on Shore Drive burned in August and has sat there since.

The owner told the city he will come up with a plan by next week.
