7-Eleven employee shot during robbery, suspect arrested

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk police say a 7-Eleven worker was shot during an overnight robbery.

It happened Wednesday morning at the convenience store on Chesapeake Boulevard near Fishermans Road in the Bayview neighborhood.

10 On Your Side obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect pulling a handgun on the store’s clerk at the checkout counter.

According to police, the 23-year-old clerk was shot in the chest area and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He is expected to recover.

Police arrested the suspect, 38-year-old Kevin D. Bristow on Friday afternoon. He reportedly got away from the store with less than $80.

This 7-Eleven store was one of three in the Hampton Roads area that experienced armed robberies overnight. Police have not said if Bristow is connected to the other 7-Eleven robberies.
