NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk Police car was involved in a crash on Military Highway Monday night.
Police say that a two-officer car traveling on Lowery Road was struck as it crossed the North Military Highway intersection at around 9:30 p.m. The police car was reportedly driving through a green light.
The other vehicle — which was traveling northbound on North Military Highway — ran through a red light and hit the police car in the driver-side door, according to police.
Both officers were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and are expected to make full recoveries.
The driver of the other car was not injured in the accident, and has been cited for disregarding a red light.
