Family, friends looking for answers in Berkley Avenue shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Loved ones are asking for answers in the shooting death of a 54-year-old Norfolk man.

Marvin Jones was discovered shot to death in his home on Berkley Avenue Extended shortly before 10:45 Saturday night.

“We want to know who did this,” said Diane Moten, the victim’s sister.

Moten and sister Lisa Jennette spoke only to 10 On Your Side, describing their brother as a warm and kind person.

“Why would someone do that to him? They didn’t have to kill him.”

Neighbors said Jones was beloved in the community, and would often invite folks to attend church with him.

“He was right with God,” Jennette said.

The sisters want answers in this tragedy. They are pleading with the community to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.

It’s the city’s 32nd homicide investigation this year.
