PRINCE GEORGE CO., Va. (WRIC) – Virginia State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that happened Saturday on I – 95 North in Prince George County.
Emergency dispatchers received a call around 12:31 a.m. for reports that a tractor-trailer ran off the road. During the accident, the truck took out about 325 feet of guard rail coming to rest in the median.
The truck was loaded with 42,000 pounds of empty glass bottles. The fuel tank ruptured and spilled about a 120 gallons of diesel fuel that was contained.
The truck driver was charged with reckless driving.
Investigators say speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
