VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A McDonald’s in Virginia Beach that was destroyed in a car crash back in June is set to reopen, Saturday, Dec. 19.

The grand reopening of the McDonald’s located off of General Booth Boulevard and London Bridge Road will take place at noon on Saturday.

The building was severely damaged in June when a van crashed into it, which sparked a fire that injured four people. Firefighters battled to get the 20-foot flames under control for an hour due to a gas line that was ruptured.

Paul Smith, the owner of this McDonald’s location, said in June that rebuilding the location would cost about $1 million.

Crew members who fought the fire in June will be attending Saturday’s ceremony.
