New Norfolk residential building honors lifelong resident

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk city officials were on hand Friday morning to break ground on a new residential complex that will be located at South Main Street & Berkley Avenue.

The project will be named after a resident of the area, George Banks. The 82-year-old is a lifetime Berkley resident who has also done work in the community.

The Banks at Berkley will feature 50 affordable housing units offering one to three bedrooms. The project will also include a community room and on-site parking.
