Coast Guard rescues fishermen in disabled boat off Chincoteague

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Coast Guard rescued four fishermen off a disabled boat 50 miles off Chincoteague.

Family members reported the fishermen overdue around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

A crew from Coast Guard Cutter Cochito from Portsmouth and a C-130 Hercules airplane crew from Air Station Elizabeth City were sent to search for the fishermen.

The fishermen were located around 11:30 a.m. about 50 miles southeast of Chincoteague Inlet.

The boat was disabled due to mechanical problems. All four people were in good condition.
