Chesapeake Police make arrest in stabbing case; 1 suspect still at large

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Police made an arrest Thursday night from an attempted robbery that turned into a stabbing assault in the 1300 block of Altoona Street.

The victim saw two suspects approaching his vehicle in his driveway. The victim alerted his father and they went outside to confront the suspects. The suspects then fled on foot.

The victim chased down one of the suspects. The suspect, armed with a knife, then stabbed the victim. The victim and his father called police, and were able to hold down the suspect until they arrived.

The victim was then transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested 20-year-old Dre-Kwane Poole on charges of malicious wounding, attempted larceny and vehicle tampering.

Officers were not able to locate the second suspect.
