Mobile home destroyed in early morning fire

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — A mobile home in the 6000 block of Old Mooretown Road in Williamsburg was destroyed in an early morning fire on Wednesday.

Firefighters say that crews responded to the fire shortly after 12:15 a.m., and found the home fully involved in a fire.

It was brought under control by 12:41 a.m., but the entire home suffered extensive damage and is considered a total loss.

Firefighters say that the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Investigators say that a neighbor noticed the fire and contacted dispatchers.

No civilian injuries were reported, but one firefighter suffered an eye injury and was treated at the scene.

Fire officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
