Lake Taylor locks up spot in 4A state title game; Indian River, Phoebus fall

Lake Taylor won its 29th straight game, and with a 47-33 win over Courtland, advanced to next weekend’s 4A state championship game. The reigning 4A champions will have a chance at a repeat when they take on the winner of Salem and Jefferson Forest in Lynchburg.

The Titans (14-0) took a 28-0 lead and pulled away for the win.

Meanwhile in 5A, Indian River’s season came to an end with a 35-10 loss at Highland Springs. Phoebus fell short of the 3A championship game with a 28-23 loss against Magna Vista at Darling Stadium.
