U.S. Embassy in Kabul issues attack warning

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN (WAVY) — The U.S. Embassy in the Afghanistan province of Kabul has issued a warning about a possible attack.

A warning posted on the Embassy’s website said officials had received credible reports of an imminent attack in Kabul City within the next 48 hours and strongly urged U.S. citizens to exercise extreme caution if moving around the city.

The statement went on to say the Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens against travel in Afghanistan saying the security situation is “extremely unstable” and citizens “may wish to consider departing.

No details regarding the targets, timing or method of the planned attack were available.
