NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man is currently behind bars for the murder of a 19-year-old man that occurred in the 800 block of Lindenwood Avenue the night of Nov. 9.

The victim, Trenton D. Holland, was found by officers inside of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died.

Police say that a tip they received early on in the investigation led officers to the arrest of 30-year-old Martinis T. Pivott, who turned himself into law enforcement that evening without incident.

Pivott has been charged with one count of 2nd degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Martinis is being held without bond at Norfolk City Jail.
