CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters are working on a commercial fire that erupted at scrap recycling company Sims Metal Management located at 4300 Buell Street in Chesapeake Monday morning.
A pile of scrap metal caught fire at the facility. WAVY viewer Kimberly Smith posted a video of the fire earlier this morning:
Chesapeake Fire Department tweeted this morning that they were dispatched at 7:21 a.m., arrived on the scene at 7:22 and had the fire under control at 8:25 a.m. No injuries were reported, and investigators are still working on determining what caused the fire.
