Car becomes wedged under truck after crash on Ft. Eustis Blvd.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Crews responded to a two-vehicle crash in Newport News, Friday.

The crash happened on southbound Ft. Eustis Boulevard, in the area of the Newport News Waterworks reservoir around 3:41 p.m. Traffic was diverted to Warwick Boulevard while crews worked to clear the scene. Ft. Eustis has since reopened.

Police say a sedan rear-ended a truck. The vehicle become wedged under the truck. The driver of the sedan made it our safely before rescue crews arrived. Crews then stabilized the truck before allowing the driver to safely get out.

No one was injured.

The driver of the sedan, 56-year-old Brian Pilati, was issued a summons for following to close.
