Police make arrest in Hampton shooting on Seldendale Drive

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police have arrested Roderick Everett Jr., 29, in connection with a Thursday night shooting that happened in the 2000 block of Seldendale Drive.

An investigation showed that Everett and the victim were in an argument. The two then pulled guns on each other and began firing. The victim was struck multiple times and Everett fled the scene. The incident was drug related.

The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains.

Everett is being charged with maiming, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession with intent to distribute.
