Police investigating homicide that happened at Cypress Point Shopping Center

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police continue to look for clues in a homicide investigation that happened in a parking lot of the Cypress Point Shopping Center off of Diamond Springs Road on Thursday, Nov. 5.

The victim was 19-year-old Virginia Beach resident Justin Creggar Dean. Officers located Dean after responding to a call about the incident at 7:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Virginia Beach Police have not released any suspect information but say the department’s homicide unit is actively investigating this case. Stay with WAVY.com for updates.

Family and friends gathered Friday evening at the oceanfront for a candlelight vigil and balloon release. Several people who knew Dean told 10 On Your Side the Princess Anne High grad touched a lot of lives.

Cody Mann said, “A good trustworthy person always there for you when you needed a friend…he always set an example, just a good guy all the way around.”

Evalyn Gillespie said, “An amazing genuine caring trustworthy person definitely built on trust and respect. Super funny hilarious always there for anyone no matter what you needed had your back no matter what.
