ODU to show football game on public park big screen TV

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – ODU and Festevents will broadcast the Monarch’s football game Saturday night during RibtoberFest in downtown Norfolk.

For ODU fans who can’t make it to Texas to watch head coach Bobby Wilder’s team take on the University of Texas at San Antonio, Festevents will show the game on a big screen TV at Town Point Park.

Its part of this weekend’s Ribtoberfest which celebrates everything having to do with ribs and barbecue. Organizers say there will also be plenty of craft beer and bourbon on hand.  Admission is free and open to everyone.

“We are thrilled to bring this new and exciting ODU football experience to our local Monarch fans! Town Point Park is the perfect location to start this new tradition of community celebration- Go Monarchs,” said Festevents CEO and ODU graduate Karen Scherberger.

The 3rd Annual Ribtoberfest starts Saturday at 2:00 pm.  It lasts until the ODU game is finished.  The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.  Visitors can bring lawn chairs and blankets, but not grills or tents.
