Police ID body found in vehicle as missing Norfolk woman

Jequil Holloway

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake Police officials have confirmed that the body found inside of a car located on Oldwood Street in Chesapeake was 20-year-old Jequil Holloway. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Holloway disappeared last week in the Berkley-Campostella area of Norfolk.

Police made the tragic discovery Sunday afternoon in the 1100 block of Oldwood Street, near Campostella Road. Police believed Holloway was driving a grey 2004 Nissan Altima before her disappearance. Her body was discovered in a grey Nissan.

People who live in the area say they saw the car but thought nothing of it until they saw the news. “I saw the car. It was kind of suspicious because I never seen it around here then I just walked by normally,” said Chesapeake resident Frank Quinones.

However, what Quinones later found out about the grey car parked along Oldwood Road was anything but normal. Police say a body was inside. Quinones read about it on his Facebook feed. “I was like wow. I would have never thought that it was somebody dead in the car,” Quinones said.

Neighbors who didn’t want to talk on camera tell 10 On Your Side they were alerted to something happening on their normally quiet street when investigators knocked on their doors Sunday. They said the road was blocked for hours. The neighbors said they noticed the car but did not know how long it had been there.
