NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Investigators are working to determine what led up to a 19-year-old man getting shot Saturday morning.
Dispatchers took a call about a shooting in the 4000 block of Orcutt Avenue at 10:25 a.m. Responding officers found a man with a single gunshot wound to his upper body, according to Newport News police spokesman Sergeant Randy Rajkumar.
The victim is at the hospital, but police said the severity of his injury has not been determined.
The injury was not self-inflicted, but investigators say they haven’t made any arrests or identified any suspects.
