Police looking for suspects in Hampton shooting case

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton Police are asking for help in locating two suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred on the 400 block of Michigan Drive early Saturday night.

Around 6:31 p.m Saturday, police received multiple complaints of a shooting victim, according to SPO Ashley Jenrette. When police arrived, they discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A witness, who asked not to be named, said she went to help the man.

“I asked him if he was okay and he said no,” she said. “I ran back and got a coat and got something to put on his wounds and went down to assist him.”

That witness told 10 On Your Side that she spoke on the phone with the young man’s father. She said the wounded man wasn’t from the Asbury Place apartments.

Police say the victim was a 29-year-old man who was in the area to buy a Playstation. The victim was approached by the two suspects, who shot the victim several times.

He was transported to a local hospital where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries. Police have vague descriptions of the suspects, so if you have any information that could assist police with this case, you are encouraged to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
