Va. Beach to extend lighting at dog park during November

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Things will be a little brighter at a Virginia Beach dog park next month.

The city plans to add lights to the Bayville Farms facility, but only through November.

Last year, neighbors said they paid to use the park, but it closed early and got too dark at night. One neighbor contacted 10 On Your Side about a petition she started to make changes at the park.

As a result, the city says it will add portable lighting this year and extend the hours — for an extra month.

The city says that keeps it on par with the rest of the park’s schedule.

The woman who started the petition says she’s not entirely happy with that and she wants the city to find a permanent solution.
