Local man sentenced in fatal DUI crash

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man has been sentenced in a fatal DUI crash that claimed the life of one person back in 2014.

Robert Glenn Horton, 48, was sentenced Friday in Norfolk Court to four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

Horton cashed his Ford Explorer into another car on eastbound Interstate 64, near the Twin Bridges in July 2014. The crash killed 21-year-old Tyler A. Carnes.

According to investigators, Carnes was stopped in the left shoulder lane and was waiting for assistance when Horton crashed into his vehicle.
