VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Officials in Virginia Beach dedicated a street Friday in memory of a fallen officer.

The street “MJ Beasley Trail” is located at Holland Crossing and connects with Holland Road, near Princess Anne Road.

It’s named after Special Constable Beasley, who was killed by a man he was arresting back in 1898.

Beasley was also memorialized with a monument on 35th street on the Oceanfront.
