Newport News dog sought for rabies test

NEWPORT NEWS Va. (WAVY) — The Peninsula Health District is trying to find a black Dachshund that bit someone on Wednesday, October 21 in Williamsburg.

The dog was being walked by a woman, along with other brown Dachshunds. The bite occurred around New Town Avenue near the bus stop across from Urgent Care in Williamsburg.

If the dog is not located, the bite victim may have to go through a series of shots for the prevention of rabies.

Once found, the dog will be placed on an in-home confinement for ten days, NOT taken from its owner.
