2 people hurt during Norfolk home invasion; all suspects caught

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police have arrested three men in connection with a home invasion that happened Thursday morning.

Police say the men forced their way into a home in the 1400 block of Melrose Parkway. Once inside they assaulted two of the four people who were home, causing non-life threatening injuries.

911 was called at 2:30 a.m. and as police arrived to the location, they immediately took one suspect into custody. Two other suspects attempted to run from the area and were caught a short distance away.

The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Nicholas Howerin, 19-year-old Zachary Kelleher, 18-year-old Jacob Tuel.

Each has been charged with armed burglary, malicious wounding, unlawfully wearing a mask, robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony.
