NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – David A. Parker, of Virginia Beach, was sentenced to 2 years after pleading guilty to evading income tax assessment and payment.

The 49-year-old entered a guilty plea agreement in October of 2015, admitting that he completely failed to file federal income tax returns from 2007 to 2011. Parker also declined to file business income tax returns after 2007. The combined tax bill is over $1 million.

Parker met with an IRS agent in February 2012 and failed to disclose all of his assets while maintaining that he had little money. Then weeks after their initial meeting, Parker purchased nearly $50,000 in chips at casinos in Florida and Atlantic City.

Parker is the owner of Rudee Inlet Jet Skis and Adventure Parasail, Inc.
