Mother, child injured in multi-vehicle crash in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A mother and a child were seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

The crash happened in the 4900 block of Princess Anne Road, near Englewood Drive, around 8:33 a.m.

Investigators say two vehicles were stopped in traffic, when a third vehicle, a Nissan, rear-ended one of the vehicles and caused a chain reaction.

The driver of the Nissan, an adult female and her child less than 3 years of age, were taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, said police.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in this accident. The crash remains under investigation.
