PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Realtors hope new homes will help revitalize the Cradock neighborhood in Portsmouth.
10 On Your Side went to check out the development at an open house Monday.
The builder says the new homes will unite the community’s history with the need for change.
Builder Carol Curtis said, “Bringing back the history of Cradock into the neighborhoods and build homes that replicate the historical nature of the original homes. Cradock from my understanding is the oldest planned government community in the United States.”
Last month, we told you neighbors were dealing with more crime in the Cradock area.
Since June, criminals broke into at least 20 homes.
