HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police say a man was injured in a shooting Monday afternoon and now a 15-year-old is facing charges.

Officers were called to the 3400 block Custer Court in Hampton, around 3:45 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the leg. The 19-year-old victim told officers he was walking in the area when he heard gunshots and was then shot.

The investigation revealed, though, that the victim and the suspect got into an argument and that’s when the suspect took out a gun and shot the man, who he knows, according to police.

Detectives charged the 15-year-old Hampton teen with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and underage possession of a firearm.
