UPDATE: Suspects arrested after allegedly shooting two teens

Jabazz Long, wanted for attempted murder

Edenton, N.C. (WAVY) — Authorities have arrested two men accused of shooting two teenagers in Edenton.

Police say Jabazz Long, 20, and Linward Bailey III, 21, were arrested Wednesday in Bertie County with the assistance of the NC State Bureau of Investigation and the Chowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Both have been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on the 200 block of Freemason Street on Oct. 17.

An 18-year-old and 17-year-old, both males, were airlifted to a Vidant Hospital in Greenville. The 17-year-old victim is in stable condition. The 18-year-old is in critical condition.

Authorities say the shooting does not appear to be random and the motive remains unclear.
