Hampton picked second, NSU third in MEAC preseason poll

NORFOLK (WAVY) — One year after winning the MEAC Tournament at Scope and a game in the NCAA Tournament, Hampton University has been picked to finish second in the MEAC preseason basketball poll.

Norfolk State was picked to finish third. North Carolina Central was the preseason pick to win the conference.

NSU senior guard Jeff Short, who averaged 19 points per game last season, was named the preseason Player of the Year.
