LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) – A Lakeland woman broadcasted herself live across the world taking shots at a local bar Friday night, then rolled the camera again as she got behind the wheel of a car, and admittedly drove drunk around town.

Whitney Beall, 23, did this as people all over the world watched her film it on the social media app Periscope, which allows users to broadcast live videos.

Two viewers called 911 to report Beall. Lakeland Police detectives used the app to view Beall and figure out her location. You can hear Beall in the  video say, “Let’s see if I get a DUI.”

Beall was charged with driving under the influence and booked into the Polk County Jail. She was released Saturday.

Outside her home Monday, Beall told News Channel 8, “It was a big mistake and I’m learning my lesson.”

She refused to comment more without an attorney. Her mother also declined comment.
