Gunshots fired from vehicle near Boys & Girls Club

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police officers were dispatched to Thorncliffe Drive and Cypress Terrace after reports of shots fired near the Boys & Girls Club Monday afternoon.

The call came in just before 3 p.m.

Several witnesses told officers a maroon vehicle was speeding down the street while passengers inside the car fired shots, Newport News police spokesperson Holly McPherson confirmed. Officers located several casings on Thorncliff Drive and they discovered a damaged window frame at an apartment on Cypress Terrace.

No injuries were reported.
