VIRGINIA (WAVY) — The last day to register to vote for November’s election day is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Eligible Virginians can to check their registration status, update their information, or register to vote for the first time at the following link: http://elections.virginia.gov/register
You can also apply in-person at your local voter registration office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 13 or you can mail a completed voter registration form to your local office or the Department of Elections with a postmark of Oct. 13 or earlier.
Voter registration forms are available at all DMV customer service centers, social service offices, locations that offer hunting and fishing licenses, and many other public locations such as local libraries.
To be eligible to register to vote in the November 3, 2015 election, a person must:
- be a U.S. Citizen
- be a resident of Virginia
- be 18 years old on or before November 3, 2015
- have your right to vote restored if convicted of a felony
- not be currently adjudicated mentally incapacitated by a court of law
