HAZMAT crew called to clean hydraulic fluid off I-64

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A HAZMAT crew was called out to I-64 Tuesday to clean up a hydraulic fluid spill.

The fluid leaked from a bucket truck in the vicinity of Hampton Roads Center Parkway just before 11:30 a.m. A worker was also stuck in the bucket for a short time, according to Hampton Battalion Chief Anthony Chittum.

A Newport News Fire crew assisted the Hampton Fire Department because of the close proximity.

There is no word yet what caused the fluid to leak. Stay with WAVY for updates.
